Seven patients were observed for 28 days after taking the AG - 221 , a new drug they were developing . These patients had AML that have evolved blow up or fail to respond to four different types of treatment .
Of the seven patients , six showed a good response to a given drug . Three patients declared no longer showed symptoms alias gets cancer remission . " I am very excited to know what happens to these patients , who showed a response , " said study leader Dr . Eytan Stein from Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York .
